Both parents should attend the baptism course which is usually held every six or seven weeks. The course consists of two evenings, one week apart. After completing the course both parents can then meet with Fr. Bernard to have a discussion and to arrange a date for the baptism. If you have attended the course before then there is no need to do it again, simply contact Fr. Bernard to arrange an interview.
Baptisms usually take place after the 12 noon Mass on Sundays.
For anyone who wishes to become a Roman Catholic who is either not baptised or was baptised in another christian denomination, we have a programme in the parish to give people the opportunity to learn about the Catholic faith and to join the Church. This programme, called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), starts in autumn and runs till May. If you are interested then please contact Sr. Kathleen or Fr. Bernard.
